Washington - La Stampa is expanding its presence in the United States with the launch of La Stampa USA, a new English-language news platform targeting American readers and the Italian American community. The initiative by La Stampa and SAE Group will be officially unveiled this afternoon at New York’s historic Waldorf Astoria, marking a new push to bring Italian news, business and culture to a wider U.S. audience and strengthen ties between the two countries.

The launch coincides with the start of America’s “Italian hHeritage Month,”which kicked off yesterday with the Columbus Day Parade along Fifth Avenue, attended by a delegation from SAE Group. Leading the delegation were Alberto Leonardis, the group’s President and CEO; Maurizio Molinari, its editorial Director; and Antonio Di Rosa, Editor of La Stampa. SAE Group will be back in the spotlight on Saturday in Washington, on the sidelines of the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) Gala, where a partnership agreement will be signed.

The American venture, first unveiled several weeks ago at the OGR venue in Turin, is now taking off. From Columbus’s caravels to the new frontiers of digital journalism, La Stampa USA will offer its content on the website, in audio format as well as across major social media platforms.

“I am experiencing this moment with great satisfaction and pride. La Stampa USA will be our bridge to the United States and to the large Italian American community. We will bring businesses, ideas and projects together, with the aim of becoming one big family again,” said SAE Group President Alberto Leonardis, summing up the initiative’s mission.

Maurizio Molinari will introduce La Stampa USA to an audience of business leaders and institutional representatives, explaining the vision behind the new platform. Alongside its coverage of Italy for American readers, the English-language outlet will devote considerable attention to Italian culture in the United States, highlighting communities, outstanding achievements and leading figures.

“La Stampa USA is opening a window onto Italy for Americans,” Molinari said. The platform will feature contributions from American journalists based in different parts of the country, alongside bylines from La Stampa. Its editorial Headquarters will be in New York.

The initiative will also receive support from the highest levels of Italy’s institutions. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani and Rome Mayor Walter Gualtieri will address the event through video messages.

The evening at the Waldorf Astoria, whose main sponsors are Intesa Sanpaolo and Bonifiche Ferraresi, will feature a conversation between writer Antonio Monda and world-renowned architect Daniel Libeskind. They will discuss the role of art and architecture in shaping the relationship between the United States and Italy. Molinari will then explore the value of Made in Italy with Gherardo Guarducci, a prominent figure in New York’s restaurant industry and Founder and Executive Chairman of SA Hospitality Group.

An agreement will also be signed between SAE Group and SACE, Italy’s export credit agency. Among other initiatives, the partnership will provide for in-depth editorial coverage of major trends and opportunities for trade between Italy and the United States.

“With this agreement, La Stampa USA will be able to draw on SACE’s wealth of expertise, analysis and market knowledge to provide American audiences with high-quality content on opportunities for trade, investment and international expansion,” said Antonio Frezza, SACE’s Chief Marketing Innovation Officer.

In partnership with Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, La Stampa USA will also support the promotion of Turismo delle Radici, or Roots Tourism. Part of Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan under the EU’s NextGenerationEU program, the initiative seeks to strengthen the ties between Italians and people of Italian descent around the world and their ancestral hometowns. It does so through institutional events and projects designed to showcase Italy’s cultural heritage and generate economic opportunities.
